The Friday Post: Starting The Weekend Right

The Friday Post: Starting The Weekend Right

On the Own This Day Group on DDP Yoga Group, I put out the Challenge to Start the Weekend Right and take a picture of you doing your best position.  I was inspired by Christina Russell ending their family with a picture of her doing a Forearm Stand.  Believe me, Forearm Stand is not an easy thing to do.

So, after busting out Day 10 of my Mixed Tape Streak, I went to do a Black Crow to a Head Stand.

Here are the numbers from the workout:

Workout: Mixed Tape (11)
Total Workout Time: 35:25 (min/sec)
Average Heart Rate: 125bpm
Maximum Heart Rate: 144bpm
Total Time in the Zone: Around 33 Minutes

Along with hitting one of my better positions, I also tried to take another strong pose to the next level: from Wrap 'n Burn to Bird of Paradise

Its not there yet (with the leg locked out).  But, just like getting Black Crow into a Handstand, I will get there!  All it takes is working at it little by little. There are some positions that it took years for people like DDP to hit.  It didn't stop him from continuing to getting better every day.

Another wise person, Jim Mabes, said: "It is not about whether you win or lose. It is whether you accept the challenge."

If you look at every day as a new change to accept the challenge, you will....
