The Midwest Strong Post: Manifesting Your Dreams
" I used to be afraid of failing at something that really mattered to me. But now, I'm more afraid of succeeding at things that don't matter." - Bob Goff
I hope everyone is having a good start to their 2015! Let me tell you a bit about mine.
New Year's Eve: 2014
I was working at my 2nd job, which is cleaning showrooms at a local car dealership. It was a busier than normal day, meaning a lot of foot traffic and cars moving in and out. When that happens, it happens to track in a lot of mud and salt to melt the ice in the lot. This means that cleaning took a lot longer than normal if I was going to make a good job of it. This also meas that it took well past midnight to get done.
At first, my mind went to where most people's would go to, which is how much I didn't want to be there. But then I heard Diamond Dallas Page's voice in my head talking about Changing Your State & The Story You Tell Yourself.
You see, DDP Yoga isn't just the Best Fitness Program on the Planet. Its also about having the right mindset to make positive changes and keep moving forward.
There's a lot people (especially this time of year) that will have that Resolution to loose X number of pounds and get fit. But then, something negative happens that makes everything spiral out of control. Before they know it, they're right back where they started.
So, when things get bad, Dallas has talked about turning Negatives into Positives. To do that, you have to get out to that negative mind space. You do that by standing up straight, pulling your shoulders back and laughing. Never mind if you don't feel like laughing. Find a way to make yourself laugh, even if you have to fake it. If you do that, that gets you in the right mindset.
From there, its all about the Story You Tell Yourself. If you focus on how much things suck right now, then you are spinning your wheels in the muck. You have no traction to move forward. But, if you find a way to be grateful for the good things you have now and can picture where you want to go, you can find a way to move towards that, no matter how big that goal might be.
So that night, I pulled my shoulders back, laughed, and pictured where I wanted to be on New Years Eve 2015. The thought in my head was at a home, with my friends & family, raising a glass to toast the New Year.
The picture that appeared in my head that went with that thought was the Accountability Crib, which is Diamond Dallas Page's home in Smyrna, GA.
Jump forward to this past weekend. I was having a conversation on Facebook and put out that my Pie In The Sky Dream was to be part of the DDP Yoga Performance Center's Creative Team. No more than a couple of minutes later, Dallas responded, saying that this was called Manifesting Dreams Into Reality.
Where is this going to go? Well, wherever it goes, I know that if I work hard enough, Dreams can turn into Reality.
It all comes back to Owning Your Life and striving each new day to..
